My name is Sandra Drygas and I am a certified Personal Trainer Specialist with Can Fit Pro, as well as a mother. My specialties include weight loss, pre & post natal health & fitness (including correction of diastsis recti / abdominal split), dance training & conditioning, injury prevention & correction, as well as family fitness.
I began my professional dance training with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School at the age of 12 and continued my training at the Quinte Ballet School through high school. Upon graduation I continued to dance professionally as a freelance artist in Toronto and Vancouver until 2003.
Since leaving the world of dance, I have had 2 children. While pregnant with my first daughter I was unsure of which exercises were healthy and safe for me and the baby. I was not satisfied with the simple exercises that were given to me by various medical professionals and in my pre-natal classes. During that pregnancy my abdominal muscles split and again, I found it difficult to find good advise from the doctors and other professionals out there. I began taking Stroller Fit and Baby & Me Classes. During these classes, I decided to make a career change and pursued my Personal Trainer Certification. I managed to correct my abdominal split and return to my pre-pregnancy weight.
I began working at Goodlife Fitness after maternity leave and continued to learn and expand my certifications. Once I found out I was pregnant with my second child, I decided to study more about pre & post natal fitness and I ended up introducing Baby & Me Fitness classes to the club. With this pregnancy I was better educated and I was able to keep in great shape. I continued to train, workout and instruct right up to the end of my 8th month. The entire pregnancy was more enjoyable and I had more energy and less discomfort. I was also able to enjoy the comfort of a drug-free home birth.
Once I returned to Toronto, I wanted to offer affordable choices to everyone interested in living a healthier and happier lifestyle. Along with my certifications I feel that personal experience gives me a deeper understanding of my clients struggles and desires.
I have been working with women in the Beaches and Leslieville area since December 2008 and I am loving every minute of it! Most of the women I have worked with have become more than just clients; I consider many of them good friends. Results have varied for each woman, but all are working hard to improve their health and well-being. The best part of working with all of them, is seeing them achieve their goals and feel better about themselves and their new bodies.
Thank you to all the women that have given me the opportunity to help you achieve a healthier you!
